Who We Are

Who We Are

Everyone from all walks of life! Most of our churches comprise such a broad cross-section of society for whom God has become a reality...

Christian Science and Scientology are they the same thing?
No. They may have similar names, they are quite different. For more information about Christian Science, click here.  About Christian Science

Why is it called Christian Science?
It’s “Science” because it’s based upon a set of principles or laws relating to the nature of God and His creation.

Why do you call yourselves Christian?
Christian Science is based on The Bible, the teachings and ministry of Christ Jesus. Christian Scientists believe in the virgin birth, the crucifixion, his resurrection and ascension, as well as other Bible teachings.

What does Christian Science teach?
Christian Science teaches that God is unchanging Love, that He is the ultimate power of good in our lives. As His children, we are made in His perfect image and likeness. As His children we are loved and good as Jesus Christ taught.

Jesus’ teachings and healing work demonstrated the spiritual laws - the laws of God which are still available today by anyone.

Above all, Christian Scientists believe in the saving, healing power of God’s love — that no one is beyond help and reform and that no problem is too big or beyond help.

Do you go to doctors?
It's up to each individual. Usually, a Christian Scientist’s first choice is to rely on prayer for healing, and in most cases, this means that a medical remedy is unnecessary. There is no biblical or church prohibition of medical treatment, nor do Christian Scientists believe that “it’s God’s will” that anyone suffer or die. A Christian Scientist’s decision to rely on prayer comes from trust, not blind faith, in God and from a conviction (based on personal experience) that God’s care continues under every circumstance.

Is Christian Science a cult?
No. There is no brainwashing, mind control, or blind following of a leader. Christian Scientists do have a deep respect and appreciation for the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, but they do not worship her.
